CLIMATE CHANGE RESOLUTION… It’s going to Sacramento!

The California State PTA resolutions committee has recommended our Council resolution “Climate Change is a Children’s Issue” be submitted to the delegates at the 2015 California State PTA convention. If passed, this resolution will authorize California State PTA, its units, councils and districts to advocate for meaningful action to protect today’s children as well as future generations from the negative effects of climate change.

More good news — on December 9, 2014, the San Diego Unified Board of Education passed a resolution written by board members Richard Barrera and Michael McQuary in support of our PTA climate change initiative.

Delegates will debate this resolution at California State PTA Convention to be held April 30 to May 3 in Sacramento, California. Please consider sending a voting delegate from your unit  to Convention this year so our Council is well-represented. We need you!
